Hello everyone, first of all...Thanks to all the contributors here both adding paid and free pluggins. You guys are great and I appreciate it!

So I am trying to assign permissions using the permissions manager.

What I am attempting to achieve: I want to assign one group permissions to use particular Pluggins (specifically Dino Color Command and a few others).

So I looked in the config file for dino color command AND permissions to see if there were a term (such as: "DinoColorCommand" which I could add to a particular line in permissions and assign a group to it.

Am I making sense?

Can someone just point me to a video or a page that describes this process? I hate to waste your time!

Permissions on plugin depends on the developers, if they included the feature or not. Usually if there isn't a config option or a permission stated in the plugin overview it's likely to not support permissions

Thanks a lot. That narrows it down!

So, for instance, dino color command DOES have a permissions section in the config file. It specifically calls out "requires admin".

Does that mean the only group it can be assigned to is "admin"? Or can I add/modify that area to include one I created...or add "DinoColorCommand" to permissions -> group I created.

In that case, you add the permission to a group (*Not the Permission GROUP itself.), with the grant command. Then any player who is part of the group with the DinoColorCommand permission granted, they will be able to use it

Yeah, I create a group = Players
I grant permission to that group (Players) for DinoColourCommand & DinoColorCommand (Just to be safe, I saw it was spelled differently) to that group.

I used my own steam ID, added myself to group Players

I ask the permissions pluggin to list my group permissions (shows all Admin (wildcard), default and players.)

DCC still says I do not have permission to use it while looking at a dino. It shows as having successfully loaded in the console.

What am I doing incorrect?

What is your config file permission?
Thanks for reminding me of this thread.

So the problem was that I have a cluster and was not using MySQL. It took me about 8 hours of stupid tinkering but I finally got a database up (simple schema no tables), the port forwarded and the plug-ins interacting with it.

Its now cluster wide and working awesome.
